Recession is something we all are gripped in …infact well gripped. Economic crises, looming stock market crashes , job cuts , recession and in the end ‘depression’. These all words are lately thrown in limelight by the media. Everywhere, it’s gloomy.
I am no economist, but just a person who has just entered the competitive world which is as big as an Ocean full of large fishes(tycoons) ready to gulp away small and medium fishes (enterprises & firms). There may be many others who may be facing similar situations like me or may be worse .
Everyone is bummed by recession. But one needs to keep on moving.
But what can you do to give your business an edge over your competitors? The first measure undertaken is cutting of expenses. Check with your income v/s expense ratio. You need to get smart with your marketing and advertising strategies. Reach where your customer is.
People are using different means to research products and services before they make contact with you.
During my research following to be the most popular means among all :Yellow Pages & Website.
The Yellow Pages works pretty amazingly well for some industries but it has its own dark sides. Now a days yellow pages can be accessed not only through book publications but also through internet as well as through tele-phonic conversations on their provided help lines but still they lack somewhere. How? Following are some of the areas where they falls short :
1. Limited size of the ad
2. unless published in larger region you are only exposed to local market.
3. on the internet inappropriate search results are displayed.
4. Sometimes information provided is inadequate.
5. once ad printed cannot be changed
6. Most importantly, your ad is surrounded by numerous ads posted by your competitors which overshadow your ad leaving you with no return for your buck invested.
But you get a better return for your buck invested through websites. How? Read on.
1. First & most important is its Cost-Effective which is a priority in Recession
2. Your website revolves around your product and services only.
3. your target market is not only local but as well global.
4. Updating the content of your website will attract no extra cost.
5. And you can update new content as when you wish.
A website is an essential requisite of your marketing strategy - it gives your product or service a better prospect , the opportunity to experience your business, your brand, your product/service before they contact you.
All you need is a good website, with a good and well written content, fast loading pages, easy navigation search engine friendliness and neatly graphic designed.
Wrapping it up, appropriate and professional design sets the tone, well written content sells your services, and it must all sit on well planned technology capable of ensuring your site responds quickly and serves your visitors.
These were some of my researches, if you have something to share more or add to my search, you are welcome to comment.
Thanks
